Best Christmas ever!

This year is going to be the best Christmas ever! Michael surprised me yesterday w/ an early Christmas/anniversary present - we are going to New York City the weekend before Christmas! I have ALWAYS wanted to go up there around Christmas time. We usually go to Pa in January, but its too late to sneak up to New York. I am already planning the cheesy stuff like seeing the tree, ice skating in Central Park, and checking out the window displays. New York is one of my favorite cities in the world. I am still kicking myself for not going after an internship at a PR firm up there (I had just gotten a full time job offer down here.) I would move up there in a heart beat if one of us got a job there.

I am SUPER excited!!

First trip off the fall

This fall Michael and I are traveling a lot. Our first trip was a weekend in Philly for his cousin's wedding. They had it at a really cool old bank that is now an art gallery. Really pretty, very classy and modern wedding. We all had a lot of fun. We had a BUSY weekend.

Friday morning we flew up (got bumped to first class...yeah buddy!). We were staying at the Omni near the venue (really nice hotel), went to the Reading Terminal Marketing. If you have never been there is like a giant food court, but better. There are a bunch of Amish selling very tasty food. Then that night we went to the rehearsal dinner and enjoyed time with family. (I am horrible about not taking photos...sorry!)

Friday night Michael, his mom, and I did a walking ghost tour of Philly. I like to do one in every city we visit (and every time we go to Savannah). This one was more of a story telling tour (which they normally are) but the guy was an actor, but a paranormal investigator.  But since we were staying near Independence Hall and the older parts of Philly it was pretty interesting.

Saturday was the wedding - we took it easy during the day. Just did a lot of walking around with Michael parents then got ready for the wedding. Which was beautiful and we had fun dancing and killing my feet in heels.

Sunday we threw a baby shower for our best friends. I have mentioned Mike and Jess before - we are god parents to their daughter Kylee. They have a son due in January. His name is gonna be Carter (isnt that cute!). Anyway Jess's mom and I threw them a baby shower/picnic to get them some boy stuff. I didn't think it was gonna go well, but it did and everyone seemed happy so thats all that matters to me. 

Super bummed we never made it to the Edgar Allen Poe House in Philly...next time.

Trip to a small town

I know...I havn't posted in a couple days...I was in Pennsylvania all last week and just got back on Sunday. My husbands whole family lives up there. He grew up in a TINY town in the Poconos Mountains. It really is a beautiful place to visit and relax. I really love to visit there, only problem is I may possibly be allergic to my in-laws house. Couple weeks ago I went to an allergist and had an allergy test done and found out I am allergic to 2 things, some grasses and mold. His parents live in an old house, that most likely has some mold in it. I get REALLY sick every time I go there. This time I came armed w/ nasal spray, allergy meds, and my own pillow. And it worked!! I only got a small sore throat...thats it!

Wednesday - Michael and I left at 4 am from Ga and drove to Pa w/ our two dogs. We have a male and a female westie. Usually Bailey (our female) is our crazy, hyper in your face dog. Well apparently she likes long car rides. We was really good and only whined at the beginning of the trip because I made both of them stay in the backseat. They LOVE to snuggle and were not happy to stay in the back. Malibu (our male dog) is usually our more relaxed dog and he flys well. Apparently he doesnt like long car rides. He whined most of the ride. After our 12 hour drive we got to Pa around 4:30 pm. Relaxed some and then met up with some friends for dinner. We got to see our goddaughter and spoil her w/ Christmas presents. Sad we only got to see friends for that night.

Thursday - My sister-in-law had to go to Allentown for some college testing (she is a education major). Michael and I tagged along and went shopping at the mall. That night we went to his old high school to watch some basketball.

Friday - Orthodox Christmas eve. aka Holy Supper. About 60 something people gathered at his great aunts house for dinner. I am not a big fan of the food, but love the company. We also do a big white elephant exchange. I ended up walking away with some new Christmas decorations someone didnt want.

Saturday - Christmas and my 25th birthday! We went to church then to Micheal's great uncle for lunch and more family time. That night they threw me a small surprise party w/ his aunt, uncle, parents, grandma and neighbor. It was really fun to relax and get to know them a little better.

Sunday - Michael and I left Pa around 8 am and headed back to Ga. Nothing too exciting there.

I most likely spelled the title wrong but in this mood I really dont care. I have not posted much in the past couple days because well I have been out of town, enjoying some down time with my soon to be in-laws and my fiance's family and friends. Everything has been great until mother nature decided to turn Atlanta into an ice skating rink. I am now stuck in Pennslyvania and not sure excatly when I can get home :(

I am bad about getting home sick and man it has kicked in. Luckily we flew with the pups, so they are with us and a great friend turned out heat up a bit and dripped a facuet for us so our pipes dont freeze. And I am kind of bummed I didnt get to enjoy the real Ga snow, but we did have some fun time in the snow here is Pa.

This journey of waiting for a possible plane to take us home has been crazy. Our orignal flight out was today (Monday) at about 7 am, but we heard about the end of the world Atlanta snow storm, so we changed it for Sunday night. Well that was cancelled almost right after we booked it. We were rebooked for tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday). We are still unsure if we can even make it home on that flight. AND if we do make it to Atlanta, I am sure my car is a giant car popsicle at the airport. Plus we live on a hill that ices pretty quickly...

So, we shall see if I am still home sick tomorrow or hopefully back home.
