So What Wednesday!

This week I am saying so what to...
  • We did nothing for Valentines Day - we are postponing it till next week. Michaels dad is in town visiting right now.
  • I got really excited for a sale at Kroger - our laundry detergent is NEVER on sale!
  • I am looking forward to lunch today - its pay day so I can go anywhere! :)
  • I am so ready for spring.
  • I am thinking of going back to school for my masters...even though I hate school.
  • I am thinking of changing careers...well kinda. I would like to teach high school kids stuff I learned in college (radio/tv/editing/filming). Thats why I want to get my masters to jump ahead.
  • Getting my masters scares me...I am not a good student!
  • I am terrible blogger...I am trying!

Our love story

I am linking up today to share our love story.

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
We will have "been together" 4 years next month. Been married since Oct :)

2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}
Oh boy, here we go! We met in class my junior year of college. We had to get in groups our first day of class and he was in mine. From then on we were in this group all semester, so we all sat next to each other. The juicy part was I was engaged to another guy at the time, but I broke it off amount a month after meeting Michael. NOT because of Michael, but he was a GREAT friend during the drama that ensued.

3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}
We have been married for 4 months tomorrow :) Oct. 9, 2011

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding?  If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?
We got married in our Orthodox church we attend in Marietta, Ga and reception at a local golf and tennis club. We had a med size wedding. About 90 people in attendence. We didnt want it to big or too small. It was perfect.

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
We call each other babe...thats about it. I know boring!

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
Just 3?
1. He balances me out. I can be pretty uptight and unorganized, he helps "takes the stick out of my ass" but also balances my unorganized, sloppiness.
2. He is so patient! I am a learn by making mistakes person. Always right until I am proved wrong. He lets me make mistakes and doesn't hold them over my head. Sometimes a little I told ya so is in order though :)
3. He is sooo smart and hard working. It took him some time to find his way back to school (glad he did otherwise we NEVER would of met). But he is about to finish his masters w/ a 4.0 and will do great in the business world. He works super hard and takes great care of me.

7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?
He TOTALLY surprised me! He proposed at the end of July 2010 at his college graduation in full cap and gown! We had just talked about it a couple days before and he was all like no, not anytime soon we cant afford it...Then a couple days later he did it right after his graduation ceremony outside while we were taking pictures. EVERYONE knew but me!

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
A mix really. Depends on the situation. But mostly a teddy bears and flowers guy. Which works perfectly for me.

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
Again, a mix. It depends. If we are on vacation then hell ya sunset dinner on beach works, but normally I am pretty much a homebody.

10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
We would love to do a cruise around Europe one day. We love to travel.

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
Not much. His dad will  be in town visiting...so nada is my guess. Or will do something before he gets here. But Michael also has a lot of basketball (he refs high school bbal and its playoff time).

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
I did ask for flowers :) I love flowers!

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
My aunt and uncle shared this one with us - laugh! If you cant laugh at each other then you will be miserable.

14.  Show us a picture of what love means to you.

So What Wednesday!

This week I am joining in w/ So What Wednesday!
  • My Christmas decorations are still sitting in my living room. They are boxed up and ready to go into the garage, but my husband is an organizing freak so I dont mess with his garage :)
  • I brought soup in for lunch but I got a feeling I will just end up going to Wendys
  • I wore a dress to work today...its gonna be in the mid 60s...in Jan!
  • I had the windows open yesterday and will again today....again mid 60s in Jan!
  • I am ready for Spring. I LOVE winter, but this isnt much of a winter...pick a season mother nature.
  • Facebook finally settled our "when did we officially start dating" argument. The timeline showed me when we became "Facebook Official"
  • I am pretty boring. Some co workers went out to a club to celebrate a birthday this weekend...I had NO interest in going. I am more of a bar and beer girl, not a club, high heeled girl.
Join Shannon in saying so what this week!

RIP to a legend

I was really sad to hear this morning that Joe Pa...aka Joe Paterno, the heart of Penn State football passed away this morning. No, I did not go to Penn State nor do I really follow football that closely, but you have to respect a legend. Since my husband grew up in Pa, a lot of his family went to Penn State and rooted for Penn State, you cant help but! I thought it was really great that Joe Paterno coached as long as he did.

It REALLY sucks that his career had to end the way it did. Its REALLY horrible that Sandusky put everyone in this position. If you live under a rock and have not heard about Sandusky and the child abuse allegations, here is the brief story. Allegedly (i have to say that), Sandusky has been molesting little boys for YEARS. All were part of his foundation he ran, which is even more sickening, taking advantage of young under privileged boys. Mike McQueery (something w/ his stories dont add up) alledegly saw/heard Sandusky molesting a little boy in the showers and reported it to Paterno, who then told his boss. But sadly it stopped there. So because of this Joe Paterno was among the handful of men fired. It really tore him up, you could tell.

A couple weeks after being fired, he was diagnosed with lung cancer. He began treatment immediately. Sadly I dont think his body or will was really there to fight. He had a great life, made a great impression on this world. I am sad to hear about his death, but hope that Penn State will honor him properly. I know all the players and students will.

5 Question Friday

1. Where do you hide the reeeally good snacks?
Don't really have any reason to hide any good snacks.

2. Do u keep your vehicle clean or am I the only one who has things falling out of their van?
According to my husband I have a dirty car...but really it just gets cluttered. Some how I can never remember or care to bring things back in the house.

3. Have you ever been to Vegas?
No...I do want to go one day though.

4. Warm room light blankets or cold room warm snuggly blanket?
COLD room with blankets! I get hot when sleeping so I like to be able to cool down.

5. What is the worst airplane/flying experience you've ever had?
I took a flight from Atlanta to Houston for work (so I had no one to grab onto! and I am sure my boss wouldnt like it if I did). It was a pretty rocky flight then when we got to Houston it was like the pilot forgot he had to land and we started descending fast. I was not a fan, plus I had an aisle seat so I couldnt see out the windows.

I am gonna share a little secert

I have a little secret to share...I hope to be a mom of all boys. Don't get me wrong, once God has blessed with us children and if they are daughters I will be thrilled, but I easily imagine myself as a mom of boys. I grew up with brothers and a tom boy for a mom. I feel like I can relate to boys easier and would love to have a house full of sons. Michael is on board with this small wish as well...mainly bc if he had a daughter that poor girl would be soo over protected...poor thing.

And no...I am not expecting...I fell like if you are a married lady and start to talk kids, not drink alcohol or do something that MAY indicate you are not expecting then people will ask. Which is one of my biggest pet peeves. DO NOT EVER ask a couple when they plan on having kids. They prob have a plan...maybe they dont want kids, maybe they havn't even started trying...maybe they have been trying for years and cant...maybe that day they found out they cant have kids. You dont know their story. Be kind and remember that next time you ask a lady when she plans on having kids.

So that my secret..and a small rant thrown in there.

Trip to a small town

I know...I havn't posted in a couple days...I was in Pennsylvania all last week and just got back on Sunday. My husbands whole family lives up there. He grew up in a TINY town in the Poconos Mountains. It really is a beautiful place to visit and relax. I really love to visit there, only problem is I may possibly be allergic to my in-laws house. Couple weeks ago I went to an allergist and had an allergy test done and found out I am allergic to 2 things, some grasses and mold. His parents live in an old house, that most likely has some mold in it. I get REALLY sick every time I go there. This time I came armed w/ nasal spray, allergy meds, and my own pillow. And it worked!! I only got a small sore throat...thats it!

Here is a recap of our visit:

Wednesday - Michael and I left at 4 am from Ga and drove to Pa w/ our two dogs. We have a male and a female westie. Usually Bailey (our female) is our crazy, hyper in your face dog. Well apparently she likes long car rides. We was really good and only whined at the beginning of the trip because I made both of them stay in the backseat. They LOVE to snuggle and were not happy to stay in the back. Malibu (our male dog) is usually our more relaxed dog and he flys well. Apparently he doesnt like long car rides. He whined most of the ride. After our 12 hour drive we got to Pa around 4:30 pm. Relaxed some and then met up with some friends for dinner. We got to see our goddaughter and spoil her w/ Christmas presents. Sad we only got to see friends for that night.

Thursday - My sister-in-law had to go to Allentown for some college testing (she is a education major). Michael and I tagged along and went shopping at the mall. That night we went to his old high school to watch some basketball.

Friday - Orthodox Christmas eve. aka Holy Supper. About 60 something people gathered at his great aunts house for dinner. I am not a big fan of the food, but love the company. We also do a big white elephant exchange. I ended up walking away with some new Christmas decorations someone didnt want.

Saturday - Christmas and my 25th birthday! We went to church then to Micheal's great uncle for lunch and more family time. That night they threw me a small surprise party w/ his aunt, uncle, parents, grandma and neighbor. It was really fun to relax and get to know them a little better.

Sunday - Michael and I left Pa around 8 am and headed back to Ga. Nothing too exciting there.

I am horrible about taking pictures, especially on trips. But here are a few I took with my phone:

 Pups on the drive up
On our way to church...going down to the hill to the next town. Usually everything is covered in snow. No snow this trip.

Michael and Bailey relaxing on the couch

No snow, but there was ice on the side of a mountain in Pa.

Chilling in the sun on the way back home.
