So What Wednesday...

  • I am starting to feel like a bridezilla - we only have room for so many attendees at the wedding and lots of people are assuming they are invited....uh!!!!
  • If I am VERY nervous to meet my dads brother this weekend - My dad was not close with anyone in his family (lots of drama), he was the only one who attended my dads funeral. I am having a one on one dinner w/ him (and prob his wife) Saturday when we are in Chicago.
  • I record way to many shows on the DVR
  • Michael and I have a baby plan, but we are not telling anyone.
  • My veil is hanging up in a storage room at work, my boss is my wedding coordinator :)
  • I still need to buy gifts for some wedding people but cant make up my mind
  • I seem to only talk wedding...about 100 days left!
My life is pretty boring lately! Thats about all I got....

My Summer Shows

Now that the summers shows are back in swing, here are the ones I am watching this summer.

I LOVE these shows! I have seen just about every single one. I stopped watching Real World because its not "real world" anymore. These one is gonna be awesome! Imagine being paired up with your worst enemy and having to work as a team. CT is back! I love him...I am rooting for him, so far so good. He didnt get in any fights yet.

I do love Dr. Drew! I have a special interest in addiction, maybe its because its genetic in my family, not sure. My thoughts on the season so far - Michael Lohan (BLAH!) get over yourself. I LOVE Steven Adler, I LOVE Guns and Roses - but sadly I think he may be the next Jeff Conaway, lets hope not!

Rescue Me starts back up July 13th!!! Finaly season :(  From the commercials it looks like the best one yet. Michael got me HOOKED into this show. I am so sad its ending.

Michael and I are both looking forward to watching the train wreck that is Amber and to see the cutest little boy Bently. Yes, we are hooked on all the Teen Moms and 16 and Pregnant. You are too dont lie!

Yes, this show is HORRIBLE, but I am hooked! Its a giant soap opera now. It began as a good message to kids, but has moved into the unbelievable world. But some of the actors have been given some good story lines and deep issues now.

I heard Hells Kitchen is starting back up soon, in the mean time Master Chef is entertaining us. Michael and I love Gordon Ramsey and all his shows. I hope another awesome chef wins Master Chef. Last summer a sweet southern girl from Mississippi won, i was rooting for her the whole time.

This show has always been awesome. I figured out a way to get Michael to watch wedding shows/movies (he actually watch Father of the Bride!) was to plan a wedding. Now he also watches the awesomeness that is Bridezillas.

What is sucking all your time this summer?

Let's Go Braves!

Friday night I went to a Braves game with a couple coworkers and Michael. A girl I work with was given AMAZING seats from a lady and invited us to go! The seats were 3 rows back from the Braves dugout, right at first base. We could talk to the players, some drunk guys in front of us even did so. It was one of the girls first baseball game ever. We had a blast plus got to see some fireworks. Sadly, the Braves didnt win, but we got free Moes burritos! Thanks Brian McCann for hitting a home run during the 4th!

this weeks grocery trip

This week I saved 50% of my bill at Kroger (thanks coupons!) People laugh at me, but then ask me how I do it. I am not even that good at it...yet!

This week I bought 4 newspapers (I buy them on Saturdays at my local Kroger). I cut the coupons on products I want/need and then do some online research for the best match ups. This weekend I went to Publix and Kroger.

Publix trip -

I didn't find to much at Publix this weekend, but here is what I found. They had Wacky Mac for sale for a dollar and I had coupons to get them for 50 cents each. They only had two bags left. I also had a manufacture and publix coupon (each a dollar off) the Kraft Big Slice cheese so I got that pack of cheese for a dollar! I would of left the store paying $2, but saw the black and white cookies (my stepdads favorite) so I had to get them for him for Fathers Day.

My Kroger trip -

I had a much better time at Kroger this weekend. The main reason I went (well besides it being my store of choice) was the 69 cent Powerades, plus I saw a coupon online that made it about 20 cents each so I bought 15 (Michael and I both play softball so it will be consumed). Just about everything I bought was with coupons. Here is the breakdown -

Powerades - 15 at about 20 cents each.
Peaches - $1 a pound
Cup of noodles - on sale for 29 cents each (such an easy snack/lunch so why not!)
Frozen veggies - on sale for a dollar a piece, we needed some more veggies (wish I had a coupon!)
Pita bread - one sale for a dollar
Carefree pantyliners - I had a $1 off coupon and they were onsale for $1.09 - paid only .09 a piece!
Air freshener cones - (I actually like these!) plus they are always cheap and I had a buy two get one free coupon (they were on sale for a dollar a piece)
Speed Stick deodorant - on sale for a dollar a piece, found a dollar off coupon = free! Bought a couple for my brother and stepdad
Hair products - my Kroger had Garnier, Herbal Essences, and Aussie products onsale for about 2.50 a piece. I had a bunch of coupons for dollar off so I bought a couple things. You can never have enough shampoo/hair products! Plus $1.50 isnt too bad.
Viola dinner - My Kroger had it on sale and had sent me a $1 off coupon.

I spent $31 at Kroger this weekend and it will last Michael and I about 2 weeks. I may have to make a trip for some chicken though...

I LOVE couponing! I recommend checking out Southern Savers - thats my favorite go to for couponing!

Happy Belated Fathers Day

I know I am a day late...Fathers Day was yesterday, but I was busy. I want to say Happy Fathers day to all the fathers out there, especially the two of mine.

Sadly, one is in heaven. My dad passed away very suddenly when I was 14. I still remember the day like it was yesterday. I miss him more and more each day, especially with my wedding coming up. I am not good w/ emotions in front of people so I don't talk about him in detail much.

Fast forward to me being 15/16ish and my mom meeting who at first I thought was the worst person on the planet because well he wasn't my dad. Now he is one of my best friends. My stepdadish (they are not married) Bob has been such an amazing gift to our family. First, he puts up with my mom and took on 3 kids as his own (he has no biological children of his own). There were many times he could of said I am done with this crap, but he didn't (why, I have no idea). He has stayed by my moms side for almost 10 years now and has proved he is not going anywhere.

I also want to wish Michael Happy Fathers day from our fur babies. Just because they are not human doesnt mean he isnt a dad to them. Go ahead, laugh...my mom does. One day (not anytime soon FYI) I cannot wait to wish him a Happy Fathers Day from our human baby.

SURPRISE!

Michael turned 30 on Sunday while we were visiting Pa. Usually we are up there in January for my birthday so we always go to this wing place for dinner with our friends. I came up with the bright idea to throw him a surprise birthday party for his 30th. He was the one who put the thought in my head by saying dont do it! HAHA! Taught him to tell me not to do something :). With LOTS of help from good friends and his family we were able to pull this off. He was surprised that I was able to, I SUCK at surprises. I always give it away because I get excited about it.

There was some hiccups, especially the day of. The day of we went and had lunch with our best man, maid of honor, god daughter, and both sets of parents. Michael had been craving this places ice cream for weeks. He was also REALLY instiant on playing mini golf, but it was around 4 pm and this time and our best man and maid of honor were the party set up people so they had to go. My mom made us leave which really made Michael mad so he became really grumpy. During the day he kept trying to change the place we were going for dinner (I had to put my foot down). We were playing cards with his cousins and grandma (who were suppose to be at the restaurant by 5:30) I kept trying to get Michael to go back to the house to change for dinner so they could go, but he wouldnt let us go! We were able to pull it off, but barely!

Here are some funny photos! He really enjoyed it and was REALLY surprised!

So What Wednesday...

This week I am saying So What to...

  • If I ate way to much on our trip to Pa, it was fun!
  • I cannot wait to move up north - this georgia heat is killing me
  • If we give one of our dogs baby benedryl some nights so we can all get sleep - he has bad skin allergies and is up all night scratching :(
  • We dont want any kids at the wedding (except our goddaughter who will only be 1) Its costing like $80 a person to eat, plus we dont want the hassle of kids
  • I am still checking the registries :) I have two more bridal showers to go!
  • If I am basically planning my own local bridal shower - I want to!
  • I dont really care about what color vest and tie Michael is wearing at the wedding, I am over some of those details.
  • If I want to send out invitations like now! I wanna know who is coming!
  • If I have wedding on the brain....
  • I really enjoy couponing and grocery shopping - i like to see how much I can save!
Now go link up and join in!

My First Bridal Shower

This weekend my future sister in law, Melissa, and matron of honor, Jessica, thew me my first bridal shower. Michael, my mom, stepdad and I drove up to Pennsylvania on Friday and back to Georgia on Monday. Jessica and Melissa did a great job! We had almost 30 people there and got lots of presents! I realized while going through the photos I never got a photo with well anyone, but especially the hostesses. It was def awkward to open presents and be the center of attention when you dont know most people there. Here are some photos from the fun day!

I made him open presents with me

The Duggars

I was inspired to blog about the Duggar family today thanks to Olivia at Her Noble Character. Her blog is very interesting, check it out.

Most know the Duggar family as the crazy family with way to many kids. I see them as a loving family who happens to have 19 kids. Whats wrong with that? Most people I know think they are crazy. Here are my thoughts on the Duggar family.

  • Michelle and Jim Bob obviously have a very strong marriage. They have 19 kids and still find time for each other. A lot of parents with only 2 kids can barely say that.
  • They are debt free and very self reliant. If you watch the show, they have made money thanks to small business ventures.
  • They are 19 very well behaved kids. Not many parents can say that.
  • Michelle home schools all of the kids (not my cup of tea) but good for her!
  • Both parents are so hand on, its great.
  • I come from a big family (lots of cousins) and love it. I am glad that they get to experience that.

Now I have no intentions of having 19 kids, but I can understand their reasoning and will continue to stand up for them. I really want to pick up this book, looks really interesting.

Uhh...traffic!

Everyone says that their city has the worst traffic, but I am pretty sure that Atlanta traffic is by far one of the worst! It takes me about an hour, but if there is no traffic its 20 mins. How does a 20 min commute turn into one hour? Who knows! But its VERY frustrating. Now that summer is here I was hoping for less traffic. The mornings have been getting better, but the afternoons are still downright awful!

Here is a pick from my commute this morning and it was a decent morning:
