Uhh...traffic!

Everyone says that their city has the worst traffic, but I am pretty sure that Atlanta traffic is by far one of the worst! It takes me about an hour, but if there is no traffic its 20 mins. How does a 20 min commute turn into one hour? Who knows! But its VERY frustrating. Now that summer is here I was hoping for less traffic. The mornings have been getting better, but the afternoons are still downright awful!

Who am I becoming?

Have you ever looked back on who you were a year ago and thought wow...I have changed! It is strange to think back and examine who you were at a certain point in your life compared to now. I keep seeing positive changes in myself and thats great. I was thinking about this this morning. When I started college in 2005 my goal was to graduate with a degree in PR and move to NYC and become a PR hot shot. Of course over the 5 years I was in college (i know...5 years! but I worked 2 jobs the majority of the time) I changed my mind of what I wanted to do (teacher, nurse, radio, tv). I went from originally wanting to climb the corporate ladder to now I have lost the desire to.

I worked my ass off in college (had 4 internships!) and landed a job right before graduation. Ended up moving to Mississippi for the summer and then getting fired at the end of the summer (sucked at the time, but huge blessing now). Then thanks to my awesome networking skills I landed another job within days. I LOVE my job. I work at a great small family owned company. Relaxed atmosphere, great people, flexibility and fun. But as I get closer to my wedding and having more kid talks with Michael, I am starting to think being a stay at home mom wouldnt be do bad. Or work part time for some adult conversation. I remember a couple years ago I was HORRIFIED at the thought of being a stay at home mom. I think part of my change of mind is the blog world and seeing my friends have babies. Growing up Michaels mom stayed home (then ended up working part time later when the kids got older) and he really enjoyed it and expressed his interest in me staying at home a while ago.

Its fun to look back at where you were a couple years ago and see how things have changed. Does it freak anyone else out about the future?

Lets play catch up! I have been pretty busy lately and not able to blog.

• anyone know how to get rid of a BAD knot in your back/neck? My massage therapist friend cant see me until Friday and I am dyeing! I have a bad knot near my left shoulder blade for a week now. Its giving me bad headaches and makes it painful to move my neck.
• I had my post op appointment on Monday with my surgeon and everything looks good! I am healthy and healing well. Yeah!
• I played my first softball game Monday night since the surgery and did BAAD :( 
• LOVED the Biggest Loser finale last night! So glad Olivia won!
• In 2 weeks we go up to Pa for my first bridal shower! so excited! 
• I am SICK of being broke :(

The 2nd house I remember was the house we lived in in Illinois, split level, I had my own room in the basement which was awesome w/ my own bathroom (A teenagers dream haha)

I promise, I am alive!

I know I know....I have been really bad about blogging lately! Work and well life have been super crazy busy. Here are a few things going on in my life right now.

- Currently under yet ANOTHER tornado watch/warning. I don't think they are going to get real close to us, but they are def close. I grew up in Kansas so I am not really scared of tornadoes, but I do wish we had a house with a basement. The photo above is the current map, lots of red and more heading our way. My heart goes out to the families in Alabama who have lost loved ones.

- Easter. I survived my first Orthodox Easter. I really enjoyed it. I was not very good at going to the Wednesday night services, maybe next year. Michael and I did go to the Good Friday service. I will post a separate Easter post.

- Been playing lots of softball - doing decent

- work has been CRAZY busy, but in a good way. Busy is always good. We have a large event tomorrow and I get to be the go to person in charge for a big chunk, pretty excited. I really do love my job.

- I have to have surgery in a couple weeks and I am kinda nervous! I have never had surgery before. Its a minor procedure, but still have to be put out. Thats the part that scares me, what if it doesnt work and I am awake for the whole thing? UUH! Michael's answer was well it isnt a big surgery like heart surgey so it wouldnt hurt as bad...say what!

uhhh...laundry!

Uhh...I HATE laundry. This is our large couch in our living room. I have no problems doing laundry I just REALLY hate folding and putting it away, so this is a common sight in our house. And yes, this is all my laundry and then some towels.


Anyone wanna come over and fold all this for me?

Weekend Recap

I hope everyone had a good weekend! I had a nice relaxing one. Friday I was able to get off work early then met a friend to play trivia and WON! Which is always awesome.

Saturday - Michael and I went to a softball practice with my co-ed team then we went to my parents house, Michael helped my stepdad put up a fence while my mom and I shopped for her dress for the wedding. While shopping we discovered that "mother of the bride" dresses are UGLY and pretty frumpy. My mom is not a frumpy kind of lady. So needless to say we didnt find anything she was in love with.


Sunday - I went to another softball practice. It was HOOOT this weekend! After cleaning the house and cooking in the crazy heat Michael finally caved and we turned on the air conditioning. This was the temp at 8 pm! 85 Degrees!!!

- last night Michael and I purchased my wedding shoes. I found the beauties on Davids Bridal.com you can view them here (since they wont let me save the photo!) Mine are in cornflower, its my something blue!

- part one of the bridesmaids gifts arrived today! I even ordered one for me. I don't want to share on here what it is since a bridesmaid or two may read this!

- I menu planned today for the next two weeks, I will post about my adventures in cooking later.

- I have been thinking of getting a summer weekend job to help pay for the wedding even though Michael swears were doing great. (I am a worry wort!)

- I still have some DVR catching up to do, so far I still need to watch Secret Life of the American Teenager, Biggest Loser and Criminal Minds (the spin off one).

- Malibu didnt wake up scratching last night! I am sure his allergies will kick back in once the warm weather comes back

What famous person who would you like to meet?

In college I interned at a local radio station and had a lot of fun and got to meet a handful of celebrities the 6 months I was there, mostly people from American Idol and Nick Lachey!Anyway...I like to think of my top favorite celebrities I would like to meet/interview  and what I would pick their brain. Don't ask why because well I do not have an answer for you. Here is my list.

1. Quentin Tarrentino - again, I was a film minor in college. I LOVE movies, especially his! To work with him on a film would be my dream. His films are in your face, funny, and always a nod to something and someone who helped make film what it is now.

2. Leonardo DiCaprio - again its all about movies with me. He is an AMAZING actor and ever since he little wild days of his 20's he now only chooses to do amazing movies. How does he chooses the films he does?

3. Tom Hanks - see a pattern here? his film career is astounding! is there a character he hasnt played?

4. Dr. Drew Pinksey - yes, from Love Line and Celebrity Rehab. People laugh and my fiance rolls his eyes at me when I say I like him and would love to meet him. Who didnt listen or watched Love Line. Yes, his newer show, Celebrity Rehab sounds stupid, but he is helping people. He understands that if you are a famous actor or musician you are usually very sensitive, have a crazy childhood, trauma and mental instability. They are drawn to drugs and alcohol because of their mental stability and not necessarily because they are famous and spoiled. He is a hard ass on these "celebrities" and actually helps a lot of people. So back off Dr. Drew because he is awesome :)

5. Now if I could choose someone who has passed I would choose Judy Garland. Man, that voice! She reminds me of my grandma :) They sounded similar when singing. No one sings like that anymore. She was beautiful and talented but also haunted by her craft. I would just want to sit and chat for hours!
