Mother of the Bride dress

We have FINALLY found a mother of the brides dress! My mom was being REALLY picky. She HATED the traditional MOB dresses (and I do too). She likes more sexy dresses and I don't blame her. We finally found her a beautiful black dress. She wanted a dress that would hid her heart surgery scar but that still looks good. We found a dress today at Macys. It was originally $200 and we got it for $54! Sorry the photos suck I took them with my Blackberry. I forgot to take one with my mom in the dress.

Catching up and random thoughts

Lets play catch up! I have been pretty busy lately and not able to blog.

• anyone know how to get rid of a BAD knot in your back/neck? My massage therapist friend cant see me until Friday and I am dyeing! I have a bad knot near my left shoulder blade for a week now. Its giving me bad headaches and makes it painful to move my neck.
• I had my post op appointment on Monday with my surgeon and everything looks good! I am healthy and healing well. Yeah!
• I played my first softball game Monday night since the surgery and did BAAD :( 
• LOVED the Biggest Loser finale last night! So glad Olivia won!
• In 2 weeks we go up to Pa for my first bridal shower! so excited! 
• I am SICK of being broke :(

This is the fabulous stuff going on in my life:

• Well its Friday and I have NO plans for the weekend...aah relaxation...and prob some cleaning.
• Bridal shower planning is going as planned :) My wonderful soon to be sister in law is in charge of bridal shower #1 and she has some cute ideas and decorations! This is gonna be a fun summer
• I splurged on Chick-fil-a for lunch today...yuumm....

I guess thats about it, not much stands out right now. Boring i know!

• If I have a lot of snacks at my desk/cube
• I have no money left at the end of the month...I should get use to it
• I teared up at Biggest Loser last night
• I am already ready for the weekend
• One of my best friends is a "ghost hunter" and I am jealous and wanna do it w/ her
• I listen to mostly talk radio
• I hate cleaning my house

Wow this post is kinda lame this week

I survived!

I survived my first surgery. It was pretty easy sailing if I do say so myself. I was given the instructions of no food/water after midnight (blah! of course come 12:01 i was STARVING!) and my surgery wasn't until 1 pm. I stayed up as late as I could Thursday so that I could sleep in on Friday. 


Sleeping in Friday was a pretty nice perk, I am surprised I actually slept decently. We left for the hospital and I was FULL of butterflys. Poor Michael got the brunt (when I get nervous I get a little bitchy). It was a fun game of hurry up and wait. Got through all the registration stuff. They took me back to get my IV and go through some tests. I passed w/ flying colors and the nurse was really nice, spoke highly of my surgeon, and was thrilled that I was not afraid of needles or blood. It was Friday the 13th after all, she said she had some weird people that day so far. 


They finally let Michael join me, took us up to the surgical floor where the awesome nurse put us in a room w a TV. Thankfully cause it took my mind off the surgery and entertained us since it took almost 2 hours for them to take me back. We met the nurses, anesthesiologists who was really nice. He walked me through everything since I was kinda freaked out. He gave me some meds that would make me feel like I've had a couple drinks. And boy did it work and well! I just started cracking up laughing, Michael video taped it. Then they brought me to the surgical room, I switched beds and I don't even remember my head hitting the pillow. Next thing I know I am waking up very slowly. 


They brought me to Michael and once the sleepiness wore off they gave me some juice, crackers, and pain meds and sent me home. I was feeling great till about 1/2 way home and the nausea they talked about kicked in. Went home, napped it off and have been great since. No pain and appetite came back quickly. Now I am just waiting for the surgical strips that are holding everything in place to fall off and I will see my doc next week. I am really surprised by how well my body dealt with it all. 


All in all a decent experience. The doc told Michael they got they tumor and it looked like they thought. Now I just gotta wait for the bill...yikes!

I am having surgery tomorrow. Its weird to say, for some reason I have problems saying it out loud. Its outpatient, no big deal surgery, but I have never had surgery before. Never even taken a pill killer before, well besides a tablespoon of hydrocodone syrup on accident - thought it was the cough version...oops.

Tomorrow at 1 pm I will be having a fibroadenoma removed from my right breast. The doc says its noncancerous and no big deal, we didn't even have to remove it, but my regular doc said to do so just in case.

Here are my worries:

1. I will not be put out fully and will be awake and can feel everything but no one will know. People will say its impossible, but they also say that about waking up in the middle of surgery and I know thats possible, Michael woke up when he was having his tonsils out. 
2. I will be in lots of pain afterwards. I am a big baby.
3. I have a REALLY sensitive stomach and terrible pill taker. I am afraid the pain killers are going to make me sick to my stomach and be impossible to swallow. 

I am a giant worry wort. Prob a good thing I am not suppose to eat/drink anything after midnight since I will be to nervous to do so anyway. Michael has been really sweet about this whole thing. He just called me asking if I will need anything for when we come home tomorrow (like ginger ale or soup), he has also planned that after our softball games tonight we will go and stuff our faces so I wont be hungry first thing in the morning :) Oh yeah and my surgery is not till 1, I will be STARVING! 

Anyway...wish me luck, pray that my surgeon does a good job and my healing will not be too painful.

This week I am saying so what to...

• I am glad the softball season is almost up for one of the teams I play on
• If I splurged on some white chocolate carmel coffee stuff...I have been needing some extra pick me up lately and hate the taste of normal coffee
• I am having 3 bridal showers this summer in three different states
• I am over drama, but some how it always follows me (I need to edit some people out of my life)
• I don't think I have lost any weight (oops!) I have about 4 months to get beach ready, I really don't wanna look fat on my honeymoon!
• I got really mad at a friends Facebook status yesterday, I had to delete it off my wall because I kept seeing it
• I teared up at Biggest Loser last night!

I hope everyone had a good weekend! I know, they never seem long enough. This is what I did this weekend.

Friday:
Trivia! There is a Buffalo Wild Wings near me that hosts trivia on Friday nights, I LOVE Trivia. We had won something the past couple weeks, but this week we SUCKED. Expect for the fact that I won a beat :) The final question was which one of these shows premiered in the 80's. Two of the options were Benson and Roseanne. Now Roseanne is one of my FAVORITE shows ever so of course  I know the answer. Michael thinks its Benson, the team believes me and thats what we put. Michael swore up and down it was Benson so I bet him whoever is wrong will clean the house. Of course I WON! I am still waiting for the house to be cleaned, but bragging rights are so much sweeter.

Saturday: 
Slept in pretty late, it was awesome! Then ran some errands w/ Michael, came home made lunch (well more like linner, you know lunch and dinner). Caught up on some of the shows saved on the DVR and finished the invitations! I will take photos and do a separate post later.

Sunday:
Slept in (I know bad...should of gone to church). I had given my mom a massage/facial gift certificate for mothers day and even made the appointment for her. I know I am an awesome daughter! I went and saw this awesome movie:

I HIGHLY recommend it. Especially if you are a movie buff/fan like myself. I LOVE Christoph Waltz, especially in Inglorious Bastards. My good friend who say the movie w/ me read the book and said it was pretty spot on. Except the movie does not let you know that Christoph Waltz's character has sczhophernia, and that is why he acts like he does. I don't want to give to much away, but it really is a good movie.

Then of course I couponded and watched Celebrity Apprentice! NeNe...WHY DID YOU LEAVE! I am back to not liking you anymore...but SPOILER ALERT - Meat Loaf is AWESOME! He kicked Star off :) The top 4 have been chosen - Jon Rich (I think he will be in the bottom 2, hopefully win!), Marlee Matlin (I also love her!), Meat Loaf (love him!) and Lil Jon (who saw that coming, but I love him as well!) This will be really good! I think it will come down to Jon Rich and Marlee Matlin, but anyone could take it!


I hope everyone else had a fun weekend. Next week's doesnt look as fun, going to be recovering from my surgery. I will update you all later!

I know I have been slacking on blogging lately...been super busy!

• My parents - they are awesome! I asked my stepdad to change my oil for me since I was broke, so they came by my work on Tuesday, took me to lunch and then got my oil changed, tires rotated and new windshield wipers for me. How awesome!

• My wonderful fiance - I have started to become a crazy person over money, but as he always reminds me, everything will be ok. Its great to have a very calm level headed person on your side when you are as crazy as me.

• Wedding! Our amazing photographer/videographer Chris Brock - check him out! especially if you live in the Atlanta area. Yesterday we filmed our wedding invitation video. It was a lot of fun and beautiful outside. WATCH OUR VIDEO!

• Sometimes I have to remind myself to sit back, relax and be thankful for all the stuff that I have been blessed with. I can get overwhelmed easily with some of life's curve balls. I have been really good lately and not getting too anxious and spaztic.
